Demon-genre anime to watch


There are many animes out there with different genre. Each person has his/her own preferences in watching. For me, I like dark, supernatural, and demon genre. So here are some of my anime recommendations with "demon" as the genre.


blue exorcist

Okumura Rin's world turns upside down when he discovers that he is, in fact, the very son of Satan and that his demon father wishes for him to return so they can conquer Assiah together. Not wanting to join the king of Gehenna, Rin decides to begin training to become an exorcist so that he can fight to defend Assiah alongside his twin brother Yukio.


Welcome to the demon school! Iruma-kun

Suzuki Iruma has been sold to the demon by his irresponsible parents in exchange for money. Surprisingly, the next thing he knows, he is living with the demon and has been transferred into a school in the Demon World...


The Devil is a part-timer!

The Demon Lord and one of his generals, Alciel, escape Ente Isla through a portal to modern day Tokyo, Japan after being confronted by the Hero Emilia Justina and her companions. In order to survive, the Demon Lord takes a part-time job in a fast food restaurant named MgRonald while Alciel serves as his houseman.


Demon Slayer

In Taisho-era Japan, Tanjiro Kamado is a kindhearted boy who makes a living selling charcoal. However, his peaceful life is shattered when a Demon slaughters his entire family. His little sister Nezuko is the only survivor, but she has been transformed into a Demon herself! Tanjiro sets out on a dangerous journey to find a way to return his sister to normal and destroy the Demon who ruined his life.


Jujutsu Kaisen

Cursed Spirits feed on unsuspecting humans and fragments of the legendary and feared demon Ryomen Sukuna have been lost and scattered about. Should any curse consume Sukuna's body parts, the power they gain could destroy the world as we know it. Fortunately, there exists a mysterious school of Jujutsu Shamans who exist to protect the precarious existence of the living from the supernatural!


Hoozuki's Coolheadedness

Hell is a bureaucracy, and business is running smoother than ever thanks to the demonic efficiency of Hoozuki, chief deputy to Lord Enma, the King of Hell. Whether offering counsel to the Momotarou of Japanese folklore or receiving diplomatic missions from the Judeo-Christian Hell, the demon who runs the show from behind the king's imposing shadow is ready to beat down any challenges coming his way into a bloody pulp. Metaphorically, of course...

Blue exorcist


Blue Exorcist (青の祓魔師, Ao no Ekusoshisuto) is a manga written and illustrated by Kazue Kato. The manga has been serialized in Jump Square magazine by Shueisha since April 2009, with individual chapters collected into four tankōbon volumes as of July 2, 2010.

The story is about Okumura Rin when his world turns upside down when he discovers that he is, in fact, the very son of Satan and that his demon father wishes for him to return so they can conquer Assiah (human realm) together. Not wanting to join the king of Gehenna (demon realm), Rin decides to begin training to become an exorcist so that he can fight to defend Assiah alongside his twin brother Yukio.

It has two seasons and one movie. The manga have five volumes with 24 chapters all in all. You can now watch in Netflix and other anime streaming sites like Cruchyroll, Daisuki, Wakanim, and Funimation.

Welcome to the demon school! iruma-kun


Mairimashita! Iruma-kun (魔入りました!入間くん?, lit: "Enrolled Demon Iruma!") is a manga written and illustrated by Osamu Nishi and is published in Akita Shoten's magazine Weekly Shōnen Champion.

Suzuki Iruma, a 14-year old boy, was sold to a demon by his irresponsible parents in exchange for money. Surprisingly, next thing he knows, he is living with the demon and has been transferred into a school from the Demon World. There he quickly becomes friends with the demons Asmodeus Alice, Valac Clara, and Azazel Ameri. All the while Iruma must hide his status as a human, wishing that he must absolutely not stand out, while living in the Demon World.

The manga is still ongoing and as of December 26, 2020, it has 18 volumes with 185 chapters. The first season of the anime was released last October 5, 2019 and has 24 episodes. Fans are now waiting for the second season that was announced to be released on Spring 2021.

The devil is a part-timer!


Hataraku Maou-sama! (はたらく魔王さま! Hataraku Maō-sama), also known as The Devil is a Part-timer!, is a Japanese light novel series written by Satoshi Wagahara and illustrated by Oniku. The anime television series with 13 episodes began airing in April and June 2013.

The Demon Lord and one of his generals, Alciel, escape Ente Isla through a portal to modern day Tokyo, Japan after being confronted by the Hero Emilia Justina and her companions. However, due to the lack of magic in the modern contemporary world, both the Demon Lord and Alciel change into forms representing what they would look like if they were human. In order to survive, the Demon Lord takes a part-time job in a fast food restaurant named MgRonald while Alciel serves as his houseman. One day, the Demon Lord, who now goes by Sadao Maō, meets a girl who is actually the Hero Emilia, who now goes by Emi Yusa. The story then unfolds and explores the personalities of each of the characters and their moral values. More characters show up from Ente Isla and they too face the new world dilemmas, often comically.

Demon slayer


Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba (鬼き滅めつのの刃やいば Kimetsu no Yaiba, lit. "Blade of Demon Destruction") is a manga series written and illustrated by Koyoharu Gotōge. The series officially ended on May 18th, 2020 (Weekly Shōnen Jump Issue #24) with a total of 205 chapters.

It has one season of anime adaptation and one movie, which is a blockbuster in Japan and other countries. The second season of the series is currently in production and fans guessed that it will be released in Spring or Summer 2021.

Jujutsu Kaisen


Jujutsu Kaisen (呪術廻戦じゅじゅつかいせん Jujutsu Kaisen) is a manga written and illustrated by Gege Akutami and is published in Weekly Shonen Jump. The first chapter was published on March 5, 2018 in issue 14 of Weekly Shonen Jump.

The story of Jujutsu Kaisen is set in a world where Cursed Spirits feed on unsuspecting humans and fragments of the legendary and feared demon Ryomen Sukuna have been lost and scattered about. As of December 26, 2020, the manga series is currently on Volume 14 with 133 chapters while the anime adaptation is ongoing also and is now on episode 13.

Hoozuki's Coolheadedness


Houzuki's Coolheadedness (鬼灯の冷徹 Hōzuki no Reitetsu) is a supernatural comedy japanese manga, written and illustrated by Natsumi Eguchi. The ongoing manga currently has twelve released volumes in tankōbon (standalone book) form in Japan. The manga series are published by Kodansha in their Weekly Morning magazine.

Hoozuki no Reitetsu follows the sadistic and level-headed Hoozuki as he spends his days troubleshooting hell. With an abundance of familiar faces from popular Japanese legends and East Asian mythology working middle management positions, this referential and anachronistic dark comedy brings new meaning to the phrase "employer liability."

The manga series has 31 volumes and two seasons of manga adaptation.
